CHOOSE A PROVIDER

Where should your context be analyzed?

StackContext supports local coding agents, local models, and cloud providers. Use the option that fits your workflow and privacy requirements.

LOCAL

Codex CLI or Claude Code

Recommended on macOS through the native companion connection. Uses the agent session you already authenticate locally.

ON-DEVICE

Ollama

Run a local model at your own loopback URL. Use a vision-capable model for visual UX reviews.

CLOUD

OpenAI, Anthropic, or compatible

Add your own provider key in Settings. Visual reviews require a vision-capable model.

INSTALL THE EXTENSION

Chrome / Chromium

Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the chrome-extension folder.

INSTALL THE EXTENSION

Firefox

Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, choose Load Temporary Add-on, and select firefox-extension/manifest.json.

LOCAL COMPANION

Connect Codex CLI or Claude Code.

The native macOS app is the recommended route. It lets the browser hand context directly to your locally authenticated agent.

cd mac-app
./scripts/build-app.sh
open "dist/StackContext.app"

In the app, select Set up browser connection, paste the Chrome extension ID, then reload the extension. For the legacy HTTP bridge, run cd companion && npm start.
